StreetGames offer the following courses and workshops to better equip your organisation to work with volunteers. For more information please visit our Training Academy.

Volunteer Management Training

The StreetGames volunteer programme trains Doorstep Sport organisations to develop good quality volunteer programmes for disadvantaged young people. The workshops share findings and top tips from Doorstep Sport projects

Volunteer Manager Training

This one day course up-skills managers who are new to leading and organising volunteers. By exploring issues like effective recruitment, retention and exit routes, the workshop shows how to create a volunteering offer that meets the needs of young people.

Mentoring Young Volunteers

Most volunteers first experienced Doorstop Sport when they turned up to take part in an activity. Taking the step from being a participant to being a volunteer can be hard – so this three hour workshop shows project leaders and senior volunteers how to mentor younger people in making that transition.

Youth Action with Volunteers

This workshop is full of tricks and tips on how to involve young people in planning and shaping their Doorstep Sport programme. Written in partnership with the Youth Action Network and drawing on learning from Youth Scotland, it will clearly show you why empowering volunteers in this way is so important to a programme’s success.

You can make a difference

Sport brings huge benefits to young people’s lives. Even a small donation helps us to make those benefits available to our most disadvantaged communities.
