The qualification is designed to prepare learners to deliver independent Skateboard coaching sessions. The course introduces learners to the practical and theoretical aspects of coaching skateboard sessions. This includes developing their skills and knowledge of their role and responsibilities as a coach, the principles of planning, delivering and evaluating safe coaching sessions and the technical aspects of coaching basic beginners skateboarding.

Learners will be required to complete short written tasks and plan, deliver and evaluate a 15 minute coaching session observed by a qualified assessor.

Due to the practical content of this course, it is recommended that learners have basic skateboarding skills (including pushing off, turning and stopping correctly) and can confidently stand on a board.

Community Sport, youth workers, coaches leaders and volunteers

Course Prerequisites:

  • Participants must be 18 years of age, or older
  • Prior to registration, learners are required to attend a recognised safeguarding course
  • It is recommended that learners have basic skateboarding skills (including pushing off, turning and stopping correctly) and can confidently stand on a board.

If booking a whole course, this course requires a minimum of 8 learners and can support a maximum of 12 learners.
