StreetGames helps young people from all across the UK to aim higher and to reach further – quite literally in the case of these recent sporting events. Last month we teamed up with Matchroom Sport to offer over 400 young people the opportunity to see some of Britain’s greatest players strut their stuff, live at the 02 Arena.

First up, on Saturday 23rd September it was the turn of the netballers, as the brand-new Fast5 All-Stars Championship tipped off with a bang. Dubbed ‘the world’s most exciting form of netball’, this high-scoring, quickfire take on the game featured power plays, non-stop substitutions and a whopping £100,000 prize fund.

B-ball fanatics meanwhile, had their fix on the following Sunday as the tournament welcomed eight of the UK’s biggest ballers to dribble and dunk their way to a second £100,000 prize.

In announcing the tournament, Matchroom Sport Chairman Barry Hearn made clear his commitment to encouraging the growth of both sports – two of the UK’s fastest growing games.

“[It’s] about encouraging participation. Both sports are continuing to grow at a rapid rate and for that to continue we must encourage people young and old to get out there and try these exciting sports. We want to help with this by bringing both basketball and netball centre-stage for one huge weekend in London”.

StreetGames would like to thank Matchroom Sport for providing our young people with tickets to these event. They all had a great time!
