This year StreetGames launched the Fit and Fed campaign, an exciting new initiative aimed at tackling the hidden issues of holiday hunger and inactivity. It’s an unfortunate reality that low-income families often struggle during the holidays, with as many as three million young people being impacted throughout the UK.  Fit and Fed seeks to address this problem by providing free holiday activity sessions to some of the poorest communities in Britain, as well as a healthy and nutritious meal for every single participant.

This autumn half term, we’re teaming up with Children in Need to bring the Fit and Fed experience to Wales. We’ll be pitching up in Lansbury Park, Caerphilly and Gurnos, Merthyr on Tuesday 31st October, with special VIP days to follow on Thursday (for Caerphilly) and Friday (Merthyr) respectively. Both events will run for a total of four days and provide almost 300 hot meals to needy young people. In addition we’ll also be doling out some useful nutritional advice in order to make healthy food a more permanent part of these young people’s diets.

Attendees will have the opportunity to try out various different sports, including StreetGolf, tennis and hockey, as well as other activities, such as street art and crafts. Eager chefs can even have a go at making their own nutritious meals!
