StreetGames has again been successful in securing Erasmus+ funding to coordinate the European Youth Health Champions Project. The 2 year project is a strategic partnership supporting innovation and exchange of good practice in peer education of young people in health and physical activity. In particular, the project will focus on non-formal learning in peer health education that uses community sport and physical activity as the primary method of initial engagement with young people with fewer opportunities across Europe.

This project incorporates an experienced group of eight partners from six countries, which are UK, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Italy, and Malta. The project has three main outcomes;

  1. Share and collate best practice of peer education of young people in health and physical activity, which will be published as research report
  2. Training and learner resources underpinned by the research
  3. Online learning portal for the finished project resources and training materials

The project will include a 5 day test event residential in the UK in 2018, bringing together 60 young people from across the partner countries to test the training materials and a dissemination conference in early 2019.
