Income analysis in relation to sports participation – Money– that’s what it takes

For many years research has highlighted variations in the levels of sports participation across different income groups. StreetGames analysed Active People Survey 3 (APS3 2008-09) to see whether this was still the case. We found that young people (aged 16 to 19) from lower household incomes are much less likely to get sports tuition than those from higher household incomes. They are also less likely to belong to sports clubs and to play sports competitively, or at all.
