Booking for 2012 training event now open
StreetGames is delighted to announce that booking is now open for our National Training Event 2012: Doorstep Sport Clubs – A permanent legacy for doorstep sport on the 26th and 27th of March.
The event will take place at the University of Warwick. It will provide delegates with the opportunity to find out more about the Government’s new youth and community sport strategy of which StreetGames is a part. They will also discover how they can become part of our network in the creation of the new-style Doorstep Sport Clubs which are changing sport, changing communities and changing lives.
Speakers at the event include representatives from national governing bodies of sport and StreetGames young volunteers. There will also be talks and workshops from experts in the fields of engaging women in sport and national media.
This year’s event offers:
-
Insight into Doorstep Sport Clubs and the new youth and community sport strategy
-
Practical sessions to improve the quality of doorstep sport delivery on the ground including: managing challenging behaviour; coaching masterclasses; volunteer development; planning festivals and event management
-
Sessions on how to maximise a project’s profile to potential funders including: advice on marketing and PR; social media; and political advice from an MP
-
The chance to meet and learn from the best practitioners in doorstep sport.
Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
