Coca-Cola Great Britain is working with StreetGames on a three year national partnership that will allow us to deliver an improved sporting experience to over 110,000 young people through:

• Helping StreetGames to grow its network of projects, creating more opportunities for young people
• A new programme of 300 Neighbourhood Festivals, directly touching around 46,000 people
• The first ever StreetGames Sport for Change Training Academy, equipping 100 tutors to deliver 11 specific new Street Games training courses to around 6,000 coaches.

Hugh Robertson MP attended the launch of Coca-Cola Great Britain's partnership with StreetGames:

CocaCola’s business in Great Britain is made up of two separate companies that manufacture, distribute and market our range of drinks: Coca-Cola Great Britain is responsible for marketing and developing new and existing brands. Based in West London it manages over 17 brands (around 100 products) in Great Britain. Coca-Cola Enterprises manufactures and distributes soft drinks for both The Coca-Cola Company and other brand owners. It employs around 4,500 people in Great Britain and has seven manufacturing sites and numerous regional offices and operations depots across the country. With an enduring commitment to building sustainable communities, our Company is focused on initiatives that protect the environment, conserve resources and enhance the economic development of the communities where we operate.

Coca-Cola Great Britain is committed to promoting active lifestyles. As well as our partnership with StreetGames we encourage people to get active through brand programmes including Powerade’s support of ‘Take To The Streets' events, Coke Zero presents Wayne Rooney’s Street Striker and Schweppes Abbey Well water’s ‘Free Swim’ programme. 47,000 free swims were redeemed last year and the 2010 scheme is even bigger and better with 440 pools across the country signed up, including 90 in London. Approximately 184,500 people will engage in the Take to the Streets events over the course of 2010.

The Coca-Cola Company has been continuously associated with the Olympic Games since 1928 – longer than any other corporate sponsor of the Olympic Movement. The Company works with National Olympic Committees in more than 200 countries to help athletes train and compete. More than 90 percent of Coca-Cola’s investment in the Olympic Games is directed to athlete development and to assist in staging the Games. Products of The Coca-Cola Company refresh athletes, volunteers, officials and spectators during the Olympic Games. The Coca-Cola Company is the exclusive nonalcoholic beverage provider to the Olympic Games through 2020.
