To kick 2013 off with a bang, Us Girls is holding its second annual conference at Warwick University on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th January, which will be attended by new Us Girls President and Olympic boxing gold medallist, Nicola Adams.

The event – Us Girls Get in the know!  What girls think, feel and do! - will provide everything that Us Girls stands for in a conference form. This includes interactive workshops on how to lay on sport for young women in disadvantaged communities to information about the latest political agenda that affects the sector. The event will also receive a sprinkling of gold dust from Nicola Adams at a question and answer session.

Nicola said: “I am looking forward to meeting all the inspirational Us Girls project leaders and finding out about all the great work they doing across the country.”

As if that wasn’t enough, the evening of Monday 14th January will feature the inaugural Us Girls Awards, presented by Nicola. These will offer an opportunity to recognise the excellent work being done in our Us Girls projects across the country and celebrate the inspirational people who make it happen on a daily basis.

As well as Us Girls project leaders and volunteers, the conference is ideal for those who work in national governing bodies of sport delivery teams, doorstep sport organisations, local authority sport development officers, County Sport Partnership young people leads and college makers. We also welcome any coaches, leaders or volunteers working to engage women and girls in sport and physical activity.
