Tackling Inactivity

It's estimated that physical inactivity costs the UK economy almost £7.5 billion per year, with a whopping 1 in 6 deaths now being linked to long-term inactivity. 

As a youth sports and community development charity, StreetGames fully understands the need for greater physical activity, particularly amongst young people.

    StreetGames is one of the UK's leading 'sport for development' charities - changing lives and transforming communities through the power of sport. Formed in 2007, StreetGames was inspired by the success of joint work conducted by The FA, Football Foundation and other agencies working within disadvantaged areas – places in which young people were almost 50% less likely to be active than their more affluent peers.

    StreetGames welcomes network applications from community, youth and sport organisations that share StreetGames' goal of changing lives, changing communities and changing sport.

  • Apprenticeships

    StreetGames' industry-leading apprenticeships are a mix of on-the-job, workplace learning and off-site conventional study - typically revolving around youth, community or sports-based coaching techniques. The employer pays the apprentice a wage and in return the government pays for most or all of their training.
