Together with 18 local organisations from all across the country, StreetGames recently undertook an action research project aimed at testing and exploring ways of:

  • Building 'activity know-how'; (i.e. someone's confidence, competence and connection with sport)
  • Minimising young people 'revolving' in and out of sessions.

The organisations involved tested a variety of different methods, which ranged from the introduction of new activities - such as pop-up sports, competitions, tournaments and other social activities - to the use of ‘nudges’, i.e. timely reminders including scheduled text messages to keep participants up to date with activities.
