StreetGames Training Academy, who recently won Training Provider of the Year 2018 at the UK Active Training Awards are now delivering the new community sport Trailblazer Apprenticeships and are looking for an Apprenticeship Tutor to deliver all the training aspects of the apprenticeship standard to a cohort of Level 3 Community Sport and Health Officer Apprentices.

This rewarding role will allow you to draw on your knowledge and experience of teaching, coaching and developing others within community sport to provide support to learners to ensure that they develop the knowledge and skills required to pass their functional skills tests and are ultimately successful in obtaining their apprenticeship qualification in a timely manner. The role will involve delivering a mix of StreetGames Training Academy workshops (e.g. Behaviour Change, Multi-skills Activator, Managing Challenging Behaviour, Engaging Women and Girls) and accredited courses (e.g. Level 2 Certificate in Coaching Multi-skill Development in Sport, RSPH Level 1 Health Improvement).

The main responsibilities of the Apprenticeship Tutor include:

  • Delivery of the practical and classroom based workshops and qualifications following the set guidelines, frameworks and accreditation standards.
  • Completion of required documentation throughout the learner journey, ensuring compliance with the relevant bodies at all times
  • Support, advise and coach learners through their apprenticeships with 1-2-1 meetings, target setting and session delivery.
  • Working with learners’ line managers to ensure they are updated of the learner’s progress, activity and upcoming sessions.  
  • Work closely with the apprenticeship mentor to ensure that each apprentice is fully supported through their on and off-the-job learning.

This role is primarily home based but the face to face training will take place in Manchester, one day a week. The other day per week of this role (which can be spread across the week) will involve, preparation for delivery, admin, regular contact with apprentices and employers, and attending team meetings.

The successful candidate will have an understanding of delivering youth or community sports and physical activity in disadvantaged communities and experience of delivering training in a rage of contexts ideally on Traineeship/Apprenticeship programmes.
