Child poverty is increasing all across the UK, with 1 in 3 young people now in serious danger of malnutrition. For those most at risk, the school holidays often present the greatest challenge, with 3 million children currently facing the triple threat of holiday hunger, inactivity and social isolation.

The numbers of young people at risk are as surprising as they are upsetting.

Working with local organisations across the North West, StreetGames is helping to tackle this problem through the Fit & Fed campaign. Any money you can pledge to support my challenge will make a real difference to children's lives in communities that have the some of the highest levels of poverty in the region, providing affordable access to fun and exciting activity programmes and nutritious, healthy meals on a daily basis during the 2019 school summer holidays.

My challenge will involve completing five endurance events in 2019, one in each county of the North West:

  • 24th March - Cheshire Cat Cycle Sportive (50 miles) - Cheshire
  • 26th May - Rossendale Triathlon - Lancashire
  • 16th June - Ullswater Swim (3.8km) - Cumbria
  • 1st September - Manchester 100 Bike Ride (100km) - Greater Manchester
  • 8th September - Liverpool Open Water Swimathon (2.5km) - Merseyside

Please support my fundraising efforts.
