The workshop introduces the basic components of athletics – running, throwing and jumping – and how to organise and deliver informal athletics activity in a community setting.
Designed, developed and run by StreetGames, England Athletics and Sportshall, this is a practical workshop which demonstrates how informal athletic activity can take place in a sports hall, park, or car park. Aside from learning the basics of athletics movements, participants learn how to run an easy competitions based on the three components of athletics.
Who is it for: Community sport project leaders, coaches and volunteers
Course prerequisites: There are no compulsory pre-requisites for this workshop. It offers the chance to build on skills previously gained through courses such as the Sports Leaders UK Level 1, 2 and 3 awards; national governing bodies of sports awards; and youth and community qualifications.
If booking a whole course, this course requires a minimum of 10 learners and can support a maximum of 20 learners.
