Your Voice, Our Future: Lead the Movement

At StreetGames, the youngest voices lead the way. Our Young Advisors are what drive our work, making sure sport is inclusive, accessible, and youth-centred for everyone.

What You’ll Do: Drive Real Change

As a Young Advisor, you influence our work at every level. You’ll take the lead on key youth-voice projects, making a real difference for young people across the UK.

Benefits of Becoming a Young Advisor

These roles are a chance to accelerate your personal growth while making a difference for your peers across the U.K.

  • Have your voice heard – share your views and experiences to influence how sport is delivered for young people.
  • Make a difference – help shape practice, advocate for change, and improve opportunities for everyone across the UK.
  • Develop confidence and skills – gain experience in leadership, communication, and teamwork through your training and hard work.
  • Grow your network – connect with other young people.
  • Learn in a supportive environment – benefit from an induction, ongoing training, and support from StreetGames staff and partner organisations.
  • Travel and new experiences – opportunities to attend events and meetings across the UK, with all travel, accommodation, and meals covered.

Helping out at events has played a big part in the growth of my confidence. StreetGames has helped me come out of my shell and speak to new people and I'm excited for the opportunity to help out at events in the future.

Trinity, Young Advisor

I think volunteering is something you have to do in life to make you feel better about yourself and give back to your community. The moment I volunteer and make someone happy it gives me a sense of accomplishment and makes me happier.

Spotlight on… CCC Youth Advisory Group

StreetGames was chosen to lead the Youth Voice Group for the Children’s Coaching Collaborative (CCC), a team of organisations fighting to put children’s rights at the heart of sport.

They knew that if they wanted to make real decisions about supporting a generation of child-first coaches, they had to listen to young people.

That’s where our 12 Young Advisors stepped in. Learning about the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, they are actively using their knowledge to make sports coaching across the UK more fair, inclusive, and youth-led.

Spotlight on… The Huddle

The Huddle is our Young Person’s Doorstep Sport Advisory Group – a dynamic team of young people playing a vital role in shaping the future of StreetGames.

The Huddle plays a vital role in shaping the future of StreetGames by:

  • Connecting ideas to action: Helping us link national innovation and decision-making with real, on-the-ground delivery in local neighbourhoods.
  • Amplifying young voices: Making sure we’re listening to ideas and best practice from young people and our community partners.
  • Building bridges: Strengthening the connection between front-line delivery and StreetGames’ board
  • Sharing lived experience: Validating and expanding our learning through the insights of young people and community partners.

How to Get Involved

The Young Advisor role is a rewarding opportunity. It is task-based and available at specific times linked to our individual projects.

The main route to becoming an advisor is by connecting through our local partners:

  1. Get Involved Locally: The role is primarily open to young people who are already actively volunteering with one of StreetGames’ Community Partners.
  2. Talk to Your Coach: Young Advisors are managed through our Community Partners. If you are already involved, talk to your coach or programme leader about expressing interest in future opportunities.
  3. Register Your Interest: If you’re ready, register your interest below. We will notify you when the next task-based roles become available and ensure you have a clear route to becoming an advisor.
