Why #UpMyStreet Matters
At the heart of the campaign are real stories from young people whose lives have been shaped by the opportunities they’ve accessed through community sport. Their experiences demonstrate the difference that accessible, local sport can make, helping young people build confidence, develop skills, feel a sense of belonging and create brighter futures.
These stories show why community sport matters and why every young person deserves the chance to benefit from it. Through trusted local organisations, StreetGames brings sport and physical activity directly into communities, breaking down barriers and creating safe, inclusive spaces where young people can thrive.
For nearly 20 years, we’ve seen the positive impact that accessible, community-led sport can have on young people’s lives. But creating lasting change requires all of us, from local organisations and sports bodies to funders, policymakers and supporters.
That’s why we’re using #UpMyStreet to celebrate what’s working, amplify young people’s voices and inspire more people to support community sport. Together, we can ensure that every young person has the opportunity to take part, belong and fulfil their potential.
Real Stories. Real Impact.
Through a series of powerful films, we’ll be sharing stories from young people across the StreetGames network whose lives have been transformed by the support of local community organisations.
Their experiences showcase the power of community-led sport, the dedication of grassroots organisations and the importance of ensuring opportunities are available to every young person.
