From 2012 the Disclosure and Barring Service system was introduced as the process by which staff and volunteers are deemed appropriate and safe to work with children and young people.
Designated Safeguarding roles within StreetGames
StreetGames will ensure Safeguarding is led in the organisation by the Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO). This individual will take a lead in relation to safeguarding/child protection issues, with StreetGames and its delivery chain.
StreetGames and its Delivery Chain
This document defines the elements of the StreetGames delivery chain and in each step which organisation and/or individual is responsible for Safeguarding within the activity. Contained within the Safeguarding policy is the work on extremism and radicalisation.
Tutor Code of Conduct
StreetGames tutors have primary responsibility for ensuring learners have a positive learning experience by helping them to have fun while gaining knowledge and skills. The StreetGames Training Academy Tutor Code of Conduct offers tutors a guide to best practice when tutoring, assessing or internally verifying StreetGames workshops and courses.
Accident and Incident Procedure
StreetGames UK Ltd has a legal duty to report certain accidents and incidents (including specific diseases) to the Enforcing Authorities. StreetGames UK Ltd must identify reportable injuries, deaths and dangerous occurrences and report in the appropriate manner as dictated by the Peninsula Health and Safety Policy and Procedures manual.
Appeals Procedure
Learners wishing to appeal must do so within 14 days of receiving the disputed assessment decision and are advised to keep copies of all documents relating to their appeal. It is ultimately the responsibility of the Head of the Centre (Andrea Livesey) to ensure that this procedure is implemented, published and accessible to all personnel, learners and any relevant third parties.
Whistleblowing Policy
Under certain circumstances, employees are protected from suffering any detriment or termination of employment if they make disclosures about organisations for whom they work.
