Holiday Activity and Food Programme Extended for 2025/26

We are delighted to share our response to the government’s confirmation that the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme will continue to receive funding for 2025/26. This vital programme has had a transformative impact on children, young people, and families across the country, and its renewal is a testament to its importance.

Our CEO, Mark Lawrie OBE, reflects on the significance of this announcement, the difference HAF has made in local communities, and StreetGames ongoing commitment to its success:

“We welcome the fantastic news that the HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) programme will continue to receive funding for 2025/26. This outcome is a testament to the value of the programme and the vital impact it has had and will now continue to have on children and families across the country.

As founding members of the HAF Alliance, which advocates for healthy, active and fulfilling holidays for the children and young people who most need them, we are proud to see this commitment renewed.

At StreetGames we have seen first-hand how HAF-funded local programmes transform lives. Whether through sport and physical activity, creative activities, or simply providing a safe space, this programme has empowered young people, supported families and strengthened local communities. It’s an initiative that speaks to the heart of what we believe in, giving every child the chance to be healthier, safer and more successful.

Thank you to everyone who has tirelessly championed this programme and made its success possible. We remain committed to supporting the HAF programme and ensuring it delivers positive outcomes for children, young people and families nationwide.”
