Zain’s dedication, leadership, and willingness to support others have made him an outstanding ambassador for StreetGames.
Zain has been an exceptional volunteer for StreetGames throughout 2024, dedicating over 200 hours to various initiatives.
As a key member of the Doorstep Sport Advisory Group, Zain has contributed significantly to shaping the future development of StreetGames’ work. Attending meetings regularly, he has provided insightful feedback from a young leader’s perspective, drawing from his experience as a part-time youth worker at his community organisation, Wigan Youth Zone. Zain is able to voice his opinions thoughtfully as well as being a great team player.
Zain also took part in the Youth Design Jam, an initiative supported by Sport England, StreetGames and the Innovation Unit with a focus on integrating Youth Voice into Sport England’s work and the wider grassroots sports sector. On the first day of the Design Jam, Zain willingly stepped up to engage with partners, with his openness to learn, ask questions and build his understanding commended by the team. His ability to break down complex problems methodically stood out throughout the Design Jam, as did his talent for supporting others to speak up when he felt their voice was missing from the conversation.
Most recently, Zain played an integral role in the Young Advisor team for StreetGames’ #NextGen Residential at Brathay. As well as bringing creative ideas and positive challenge to the planning process, Zain took seamlessly to the role on site; he was incredibly supportive of his immediate Young Advisor team as well as his team of young volunteers – whether jumping into the lake to assist a peer or designing an obstacle course on the spot, he always led by example.
Through all of his engagement with StreetGames, Zain has demonstrated humility, commitment, and an unwavering passion for youth engagement, with his contributions leaving a lasting impact.
