Our work Healthier Holiday hunger Fit and Fed StreetGames’ innovative Fit and Fed campaign offers fun physical activities and nutritious, healthy meals to some of society’s most vulnerable young people. Launched in the summer of 2017, the programme succeeded in reaching 15,500 young people across 251 sites, in just its first year of operation. During that time, a whopping 90,000 meals were served to young people in need! Fit and Fed sessions are designed around groups of 20 participants, each of whom can expect to enjoy around 4 hours of daily games and activities, alongside a healthy meal. With your support, we’ll be keeping 70,000 children Fit and Fed every year by 2021. This programme is currently at the following stage of the StreetGames Policy Cycle Pear's Foundation Fit and Fed Report 2020 In April 2020, The Pears Foundation generously awardedStreetGames a grant of £80,000, to address ‘holidayhunger’, physical inactivity and isolation, amongstdisadvantaged children and young people in London andWales, during the 2020 summer school holidays. This initialgrant was followed by an additional award of £15,000, tosupport Fit and Fed delivery in London from April 2020, tooffset the impact of COVID-19 which was already expectedto be more damaging to those with lower financial security. fitandfedpearsreport22.pdf
