Fundraising is vital to doorstep sport projects, yet few organisations have dedicated staff to focus on it. In the current economic environment there are less grants and sponsorship opportunities available and therefore the competition for grants has never been tougher. However, there are still plenty of opportunities to secure new funding, especially in the small grants sector.

The Public Health Observatories in England, Wales and Scotland have each created a resource which cover every local authority and can be used to find the Health Profile of each local area.
The resources give a snapshot of the health of the local community using a variety of measures. These include physical activity levels, obesity, smoking and teenage pregnancies. They also show how the local area compares with the national average.
