StreetGames Summer Camp 2022 took place between 28th July and 8th August, to coincide with the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.

Our fourth Summer Camp, since our inaugural one on the banks of Loch Lomond for Glasgow 2014, saw more than 400 children and young people travel to the brilliant Blackwell Adventure site just outside Birmingham.
Joining us from all over the country for a 2- or 3-night stay, young people challenged themselves with outdoor adventures including Zip Wire and 3G Swing, developed their confidence and teamwork skills with activities and energisers led by our team of Young Advisors, and enjoyed a trip off-site to experience the buzz of live sport at the Commonwealth Games.

Creating memories from a summer of sport
Read our CEO Mark Lawrie’s blog on the impact of experiences like Summer Camp for young people living in underserved communities.
I have huge admiration for the work that StreetGames are doing across the summer, using major sporting events as a backdrop to inspire young people and encourage them to get active. StreetGames will create lasting memories and give young people opportunities that will have a positive impact on their lives beyond the brilliant Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games."
