  • Salary: SO1/SO2 SCP29 – 34 £34,520 – £40,105 (0.4 or 0.8FTE equivalent); 3 year fixed-term contract

StreetGames is a charity passionate about harnessing the power of sport to change the lives of young people and their communities. Through our work with 1,600 trusted local community organisations, StreetGames addresses some of the most pressing issues faced by young people growing up in underserved communities, including poor mental health, food poverty, crime and lack of employment opportunities. We do this by delivering ‘Doorstep Sport’ at the right time, in the right place, in the right style, at the right price and by the right people. Doorstep Sport aims to make sport accessible to everyone regardless of their income and social circumstance.

About the role

We are seeking a Capacity Development Officer to join our London team.

We are offering the role either as 1x 0.8FTE (28h/per week) or 2x 0.4FTE (14h/per week), depending on what will best suit candidates. Please specify your preference in your application.

The post holder will work alongside other StreetGames’ colleagues e.g. the Network Support Lead, to build and develop relationships with StreetGames organisations and other local and pan-London partners. They will help community organisations to reflect, identify areas of improvement, creative solutions, and development in relation to organisational effectiveness and efficiency, for example through income generation, governance and environmental sustainability. ​

The role involves:

  • Coordinate and deliver tailored support to local trusted organisations (LTOs) through meetings, assessments, action planning, and ongoing engagement
  • Assist with workforce audits and deliver relevant training through StreetGames’ Training Academy to build skills and capabilities within the network
  • Provide strategic fundraising advice, help develop fundraising plans and applications, and support sustainability planning aligned with local priorities and opportunities
  • Facilitate collaboration, organise best practice events, and share insights, learnings, and opportunities across the network to promote joint working and capacity growth
  • Gather impact data, support programme evaluation, and work collaboratively with internal teams to develop innovative solutions and ensure effective delivery of support services
